Trouble threading lockring
#1
I'm trying to put cog and lockring on a Gipiemme hub and it's not working. The lockring seems to have a different thread. Anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

Got a picture of it?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

fixed gear lock rings have reversed thread. Are you threading it on the right way?

ok, I will take a pic later. It's puzzling because the cog and lockring came as a set. The cog threads but the lockring doesn't.

yes, I have tried reverse threading it.
here's a pic guys. I don't know if it will help. I find it strange that the cog threads but the lockring wont. Thanks for all the help.

as I remember, from a long time ago!, a fixed hub has 2 different dia. threads, 1 rh for the fixed cog and 1 lh and smaller for the lockring. Your hub looks as though it only has 1 thread dia? thus intended for a freewheel, not a fixed.
Note that these threads can vary depending on country of origin of the hub, Gipiemme probably has Italian threads.
