Change cable
#1
hello,
Can anyone tell me how to change the inner cable on this type of shifter?
I have removed the allen screw, but this seems only to loosen it, to enable release from the handle bar.
Thanks Phil.
trying to add photo at the moment but data cable does not want to play ball.. But it is the handle bar twist grip type gear change.
Ok, have now found the tutorial i need. It would seem i need to prize open with screw driver, but was a little wary, because of breaking plastic. Also wanted to ask here first, before prizing apart with screw driver and breaking something.

If there is no obvious way to dismantle, this looks like the type that just pulls apart, grip both parts and pull, a lot of effort is needed and a bit of waggling and perhaps a lube spray, watch out for the spring flying out, (do it in a plastic bag, but it is not a very small spring).
Note the cable route and replace, push back together, lining up the spring with the indents.
