how do I remove this cassette? There is no lockring. What tool(s) would I need?

If there is no lockring, it is not a cassette. It's a freewheel and you should be able to see splines at the center where the axle is. Which tool you need depends on what FW you have. Pic is too small to tell. What is written on the face of it?
Wheelies don't pop themselves. (from a QBP fortune cookie)

It has lots of small ridges. It came off an old Sears Roebuck bike.

Look at the first link to determine what you have, than look at the second link for proper tool.

(Looks like a freewheel)

As said above we need to know what is stamped printed like this (as a reference) ... http://forums.bikeride.com/thread-1674.html . How many gears (cogs) does yours have 5 or 6? Once this is known we maybe able to answer ya.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
