Decals on Powdercoat
#1
Does anyone have any experience with putting decals over a fresh powdercoat? I usually rattlecan my frames but there is a guy in town who is doing full strip and powdercoat for 50 dollars. Thats a serious deal, but I'm wondering about putting the decals on. I usually clear coat the decals on, but from what I understand a powder coat does not need a clear coat.

Your input is appreciated.

Nice decals! Try asking the same guy doing the bike if he has any advice.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Thanks, The decals were actually a huge failure. The ones I bought from eBay were really low quality and they curled and peeled before I was able to put on all the components. Big disappointment.

That's a shame. I just had a similar experience ordering stickers from ebay. They turned out to be print-outs from someone's computer Sad

Yeah, it's hit or miss with TREK decals. Trek doesn't sell actual decals so you have to rely on third party decals.
