I bought this bike about a year ago online and it worked fine for a day, but the next day it started making a strange noise while I was riding. Then the bar that holds the pedals in place came loose. Now when you pedal the bar that holds the peddles in place moves from side to side in the shaft. How can I fix this?

Have your local bike shop check the Bottom Bracket.
