Freehub for 7speed Shimano FH-RM40 hub?
#1
Is there a particular freehub I need to look for for a 135mm O.L.D. 7 speed FH-RM40 hub? Says Malaysia on the sticker. The 7spd freehubs I've found say made for Acera-x or STX-RC.
I did a search, but just got 8 speed results.

Any 7 spd Shimano hub body should work fine. If you're getting it at your LBS and they use QBP, you want part #FW8946. That's a STX-RC.

So my 7 speed hub doesn't have to say Acera or STX-RC, a Shimano 7 speed hub is a Shimano 7 speed hub? No worries? I thought there might be differences in widths or mating surfaces or something.

That's pretty much it, as 7 spd is almost a dinosaur now and very few new parts being made. The parts still being made are for the last available 7 spd components, of which your RM-40 is one of.
The RM-40 is now the RM-40-8, 8 spd.
