On similar lines - washing up liquid and sugar.Smile
But only use infrequently as the washing liquid will dry the skin.
Best to use protective gloves if possible.

I use Swarfega if I do get oil on my hands.
Ride hard or ride home alone!

I came across this thread and found lots of new advice. I used to have a small jar of salt or sugar with a few table spoons of almond oil or sunflower oil (any light vegetable oil really) for treating ruined hands hard to get clean. It is fairly cheap and it works well. There are many similar hand cleaners like Fast Orange with different "scrubbing" agents; pumice, silica, ceramic microbeads, plastic microbeads,...

These days there are different barrier creams available too which are designed to keep oil, acid or alcaline substances from direct skin contact. They are much like a hand lotion really.

In sudden need of something effective, regular hand soap with coffee grinds or sawdust will work just as well. Wheat bran and baking soda work too.

I use Fast Orange too, as for clothing I use old cloth to work on both my cars and bike so if it get a little grease on it it is no problem. As for the legs use a cheap set of chaps.
Hi FredS here, as I can not get my old sign-on to work and have not had any luck at getting the password reset; I have started over with this sign-on.
