Problem: hard to peddle recently
#1
as title.

I have degreased and re-lubricated the chain but it didn't help. Checked the chain and it not loosen. Brakes are ok and don't touch the tyres. Gear shift is absolutely fine.

When cycling the feeling is some parts of my bike is so "sticky' that I have to double my effort to get it move. I only thing I can think of to do is degrease and lubricate the paddle....does it help?

And also do you think it's weather related? because the temperature is frozen at night in recent week and I keep my bike outdoor.

thanks

There's a lot of things that could cause this. You checked a number of them.

More:
1) Is the rear hub in need of servicing. Put the bike in the air somehow (turn it over, repair stand, etc), and see if the rear wheel spins freely if you push it to spin. If not, it's likely something of this nature.
2) Is the bottom bracket in need of servicing? That's the part where the crank shaft for the crank arms (the part the pedals attach to). To check that, shift the front side to the lowest gear, then take the chain off the front side and set it on the frame. Then the pedals should spin freely without too much effort.

Hope that helps.
Why is it that they make adult bikes that'll generally work for 5'9" or above, yet when you pedal these same bikes they only work for someone who is 5'4" or so?

Thanks!

Tonight I took a close examination on my bike and do what you suggested in 1). I found that my rear wheel can't spin freely and stop. I took a look on everything and it seems to be the brake problem (stupid that I didn't notice it at the beginning). One of the brake pad are too close to the rim and stop the wheel. When I loosen the brake the wheel can spin freely. I have to adjust my brake. Now studying the video!
