Raleigh Record Refresh
#1
A few years ago I acquired a Raleigh Record (I think it's an early 80's model, but could be late 70's). I am thinking about refreshing of the parts on the bike and was wondering whether or not it was compatible with more modern components. I don't know a whole lot about the individual bicycle components so my terminology may be off. For instance if I wanted to replace the crankset, would I be limited as to what crankset will fit with the frame?

most new stuff will fit; including Bottom Brackets (BB)

Take a look at: http://sheldonbrown.com/ read the whole glossary.

What do you want to do with your bike? What is your budget?

I strongly recommend dual pivot brakes (read about brake reach).
