Gravel/road tire for a MTB bike
#1
I looking at moving to a new home that will be about a mile down a gravel road, does anyone know a good tire that will work well on both gravel and paved roads? The ride to work will be just over 6 miles (1 on gravel and 5 on paved roads).
Hi FredS here, as I can not get my old sign-on to work and have not had any luck at getting the password reset; I have started over with this sign-on.

I like these, great for the money, smooth on the road, firm tread blocks not washy. nice rounded crown, corner great on pavement and dirt, grips well in wet leafs and grass, wear good. One of the best all arounder tires @ any price. sometimes on sale for even less. I use these quite often. No matter the terrain these will get you thru

I have found these at Wal-Mart:
http://www.amazon.com/Bell-26-Inch-Comfort-Bike-KEVLAR/dp/B0012RJSXK/
and use them on the front of my road/gravel green GT. On the back I use:

I have a 1995 GT Pantera AL that I ride in the Phoenix Arizona area. All desert terrain and lots of stickers' On my mtb I have put on Serfas Drifter ctr tires. I have had 1 flat in i year on the rear tire after puting about 2200 miles on them. T he drifter comes in a Survivor model wich has even more flat protection. Serfas does have a website and you can order them direct. It took 5 days to get mine and I bought them on the 4th of July weekend ! Prompt shipping is what I like' But check out those tires, they are awesome.
