Question about headwinds
#1
I am planning to take a bike ride between Chicago and Death Valley, CA beginning mid-September. I would prefer to go east to west, but am concerned about running into strong headwinds. On average, how much speed will I lose going east to west? Also, is there a better time during the day to ride to minimize the wind?

Thank you,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Good luck on your trip! To be honest, I have no idea which way has less head winds. I would try calling your local college geography department... they'll likely be able to answer your questions precisely.
