1991 Bianchi Boardwalk - Selling advice
#1
I have a vintage 1991 BW that was purchased new by my family and handed down over the years. It is the pink frame. Would like it to go to a Bianchi enthusiast. Last ride was prob two summers ago. Any advice on where to list or sell? Would hate to put on Craigslist. Attached actual pics and two add-ons of the model found in the web. Thx

Hard to help if nobody knows where you are located on the planet. How much will you be asking for it? And how did you come about with your asking price?

The bike is located in the Milwaukee area. I have not set a price. Have not found many comps. Some limited info on eBay.

Asking $200. If anyone in Wisconsin/IL/MN has interest - or if you know anyone close please refer them.

Looks like a nice platform to work with, good luck with the sale. Dunno if it is the bike I want to wrap $400 plus in but I like the color scheme. Just understand you are selling a bike that needs refurbished. pretty easy for the buyer to have to dump a couple hundo into it just to make it sound and reliable for its next span of use. I would just stick with the free selling options such as varagesale, craigslist, and marketplace. The key is proper clear pictures and honest description of condition and price it accordingly.

It's a fine bike I'm sure you can ask at least that

That bike is near the bottom of Bianchi line-up and was probably fitted with Altus or comparable group. That bike would not be worth $200 unless it was in near perfect working order without requiring anything except a very basic tune-up/adjustment (still $50 or so at your LBS).
Most likely it would need tires and inner tubes to start is another $50 or more spent.
As Painkiller stated it would be a great platform to upgrade with better parts (certainly pedals!), but it would to sell in the $75 to $100 range to allow for reasonable expense to build it up again. These bikes only sold for around $400-$500 brand new.
It is not considered to be a classic Bianchi by any means nor is it something that would interest a Bianchi enthusiast.
The OP seems to think Craigslist is not a market that "enthusiasts" would go to. Wrong!! It is a great market for finding older classics that are not priced like an ebay offering. Many are cleaning out properties after death of a relative and are just trying to get a few dollars and are usually open to offers. I have gotten some of my best deals on Craigslist so I recommend it, but you need to know how to sell something if asking for a premium price. Also, if looking to sell to those who are interested as brand enthusiasts then advertise your bike in the marketplace forums dedicated to that brand (e.g. F-book Bianchi groups, and other cycling forum sites like this one).
Take care,
Jesper
