Most of the instructions I've found for wrapping drop handlebars start the tape from the bottom/plug end, then end up using electrical tape to finish the wrap. Why is this? When you use handlebar tape that's not black, the electrical tape is going to make the job look cheap, unsightly, and amateurish... to my thinking, anyway.
Why wrap drop handlebars from the bottom?

If you start the wrap at the top, the tape is likely to unwrap due to pressure from your hands when riding.
Starting at the bottom counteracts this.Posted 4 months ago #
