Stem replacement
#1
I'm saving up for a good bike so my wife went and bought me a cheap mountain bike from Wal-mart. Its a 26 inch vortex. The problem I'm having is the handle bars keep twisting. Ive striped the screws out tighten them up so I just want to replace the whole stem assembly. How do I measure the size of the ones already there.Any suggestions?

Better off to take it back and get a non defective one. If you truly like it, they may have another one in the back of the store. Or they will give you a gift card with the complete amount she paid including tax. I would not mess it anymore just take it back and get a new one.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
