Changing Wheelset (rotors too?)
#1
Hi I have a mountain bike Trek mamba 29er and I want to change the wheels and my brake rotors have center lock. When I change the wheels I have to change the brake rotors too or I can use it. Please help me I'm a little lost

you do not have to buy new rotors, just swap them to your new wheelset, stick with center lock hubs or build wheel using your old hubs. They also make adapters to go from one to another should you get a good deal on pre built wheels with 6 bolt. I would stick with what you have (centerlock) as would be less hassle.

I thinking about buying a Crank brothers wheelset or a Mavic Cross ride which you consider better choice.

Custom wheels are generally better than factory. Peter White is a great wheel builder, and there are many others. I build my own wheels.

Telephone is best.

His website is: http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/

He'll want to know your weight, height, details about your bike, the tires you are planning on using, the details about the type of riding you do, and many other things. Using that information, he will choose the best rims, spokes and hubs for your application.
