Costing while in a group.

Crusing along at just over 20mph in rolling terrain in a group of about 30 riders. I keep telling my self “don’t overlap!” So now and then I cost. Is costing in a pack OK?

It is likely to be OK. The only way to know, is to ask the people in the group. We cant see the situation, or how it is done.

It is spelt coasting.

yeah you can do this just to ensure that you don't over lap with the rider in front of you, but usually its better to drop to a heavier cog and lower your cadence, that's a better way to keep up with the group and save energy. Generally your cadence should be a little bit slower than the one in front of you

hope this helps
