Second RSX hydraulic brake caliper fails in less than a year
#1
I bought a new bike with RSX hydraulic brakes. One brake caliper failed some time ago. The second brake caliper failed less than a year after buying the bike. In both calipers, the brake pads are not even worn out.

I recommend not buying RSX hydraulic brakes.

It appears that they have the idea that many people ride their bikes very little, so the brakes last a long time. With anyone who rides their bike often, don't expect RSX brakes to last long enough to be worthwhile.

I am now using cable brakes. The cable brake calipers I use are not very expensive, and normally last years.

Sad to hear.

Quality certainly is up abroad, but I guess we can't expect it's everywhere.

Have you seen the cable calipers that have a hydraulic piston in them?

Zoom is a pretty respectable company, and they make these too.

Seems like the power option for people who want cable actuation but hydraulic modulation.

I plan to just stick with cable brakes.

For more power, I would use larger rotors.

Ditch the RSX brakes and look for a shimano mt200 brakes. I rekon they almost price the same.
